Glen Campbell ♥'s the Queen Mum.

After a few hard nights hitting the bottle, you could excuse Glen Campbell for not knowing that the Queen Mum was dead but you'd be hard pressed to understand his 'liking' of the long dead mother of the Queen.

The American singer, famous for his song "Rhinestone Cowboy" told UK tv presenter, Jools Holland: "I love Britain. I love the climate, the way people talk about the weather all the time and your Royal Family - in particular the Queen Mother. Is she still about? I met her at a charity gala fundraiser in the 80's. I think she'd had a couple of gins because she was being quite saucy - she had a wicked sense of humour and sparkly eyes. I hadn't seen the same kind of spark in a gal since a dalliance I had with Mae West." The term 'necrophilia' springs to mind.

Princes Harry & William on their bikes in Africa

Princes William & Harry will trek 1,000 miles across Africa for charity. The royal pair will be part of an 80 strong tour of riders trying to raise £ 300,000 for four charities: UNICEF, Sentebale – The Princes' Fund for Lesotho, the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and Touch Africa.

Enduro Africa is hosting the Princes.

The trip, which will take 12 days, will start when the Princes arrive in Port Elizabeth. Day 3 is a "Familiarisation Day" where they will ride for a few hours and learn the ropes. For the next 8 days they will cross some of the most ruggard and beautiful of terrains before arriving at a beach front lodge for a well deserved rest before travelling back to Johannesburg and then onto the UK.

Before they set off, both Wills and Harry will have had to raise a minimum of £4,995 and pay a registration fee of £500.

King of America "revealed"

George Washington: His ancestors could have been the

modern day American Royal Family.

Ancestry.com has revealed that an 82-year-old retired regional manager from San Antonio, Texas would be King of America today had it become a constitutional monarchy in 1789.

Set aside the fact that most American's call Elvis the King, the online genealogy company researched the lineage of George Washington, America's first President. Even though he had no direct decendents, half and full siblings were found and their ancestors pinpointed. Of the 8,000 people located, just 200 had the surname "Washington".

Through Washington's half and full brothers, four different lineages were found with all four leading ultimately to Paul Emery Washington, 82, of San Antonio, Texas. According to various reports, Paul Washington has a son called Bill and affectionately calls him "Prince William".

Ouch! It's hot..poor me!

Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall (husband thief extraordinaire), will return 4 days earlier than Charles from their tour of East Asia. Both Camilla and Charles were due to fly to Japan, Brunei and Indonesia in late October but it seems Camilla's a bit delicate when it comes to the heat in such tropical climates.

Forgetting the fact that she has endured such high temperatures during her many luxury cruises abroad and that she has just seen the end of the British summer, it seems that the trip to Asia will be far 'too arduous' for the 61 year-old.

The Daily Mail quoted Graham Smith, of anti-monarchist group Republic: 'If Camilla wants to enjoy the taxpayer funded perks of being a member of the Royal Family she needs to pull her weight.'

Both the Queen, 82 year-old and Prince Philip, 87 year-old, do double the public engagements each year than Camilla, who is over 20 years their junior.

Wacky Brit offends Japanese Royal Family

British man shows the Japanese his stiff upper lip!

A British man has been arrested after swimming naked in the Japanese Imperial Palace moat and then scaling a 25 foot stone wall. The unnamed man then walked towards palace guards and police before being held for questioning. Emporer Akihto was at the palace when the skinny dip took place.

A passerby told Tokyo television reporters: 'I've never heard of anyone doing such a thing. He must be a bit crazy.' Oh really? Whatever gave you that idea?
