Those appalling waxworks Prince Charles & Camilla, tour Japan

Charles & Camilla are clearly thrilled to be in Japan.

Charles & Camilla have jetted to Japan for a 5 day tour. Greeted at the Tokyo International Airport by Charles' Japanese counterpart, Crown Prince Naruhito, the British royal couple looked less than impressed.

Perhaps they were a little jetlagged? Or perhaps Charles is remembering his 1986 tour of Japan with then wife, Diana the Princess of Wales. The late Princess was a sensation and became a huge hit with the Japanese people, who still remember her with great fondness.

Carla Sarkozy: The new Princess Diana?

So not Diana...

Former model, singer and now French first lady, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy wants to be just like Princess Diana and start her own charitable foundation.

According to the Daily Mail's Ephraim Hardcastle, the Carla Foundation will be financed by the proceeds of Mrs Sarkozy's 3rd album. Sarkozy was quoted as saying that the new charity foundation will allow her to "commit herself to causes without involving the President".

Princess Mary dons ridiculous outfit in an effort to be the new Diana

Mary in training to be a security dog handler?

It was one of those cringe-worthy moments. There was Princess Mary, the Austradanish future Queen, swanning about a landmine infested area in Uganda being hailed as the next Diana. But in my mind at least she was less Princess Diana-like and more reminiscent of one of those dog handlers who allow vicious, drooling canines to rip at them whilst writhing about on the ground.

So ridiculously distracting was her landmine proof outfit (as one likes to call them) the whole point to Mary's appearence was lost somewhere after the lines "a series of aid commitments " and "taking part in an exercise to destroy mines in Uganda". More used to stepping on the various "royal landmines" and being blown up by the Danish press, one must wonder what village idiot is running this landmine defusing gig when they're allowing a novice Princess to destroy landmines. Seriously folks....would you walk anywhere after Mary's cleared it "bomb free"?

Far less conspicuous "Mary" outfit.

The similarities between Diana and Mary really can't be identified. Take the first picture above as an example: Mary is wearing sunglasses. Diana is far less delicate and is not. Mary is wearing her Clown Princess Supa-Bomb Defusing Outfit in Cornflower Blue. Diana is wearing a simple visor and blast proof vest (sensible for when one takes a walk amongst some TNT). Mary is nonchalantly looking away from the cameras, perhaps feigning a regal air of disinterest. Diana is not (she appears to be in fact thinking "I hope I don't step on a bomb"). If I were to walk through a landmine area, I know who I'd prefer to be following.

Kate Middleton buys "Diana" book

Kate's bizarre book buying.
In a baffling move, Kate Middleton has reportedly bought a book about the late Diana, Princess of Wales. Written by ex-Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, "The Diana Chronicles" has had it's share of critics. It was blasted as the most savage attack on Diana ever. Of the books contents, a friend of Ms Brown's told the Daily Mail before it's official launch (just 4 months before the 10th anniversary of Diana's death): "Almost everyone except Charles, William and Harry comes off badly - the Queen, Camilla and, most of all, Di."

Having reportedly bought the book for her jaunt to the Caribbean let's hope Kate doesn't let Wills see her reading it. After all, both Wills and Harry have complained about those who sellout their mother's memory by writing books to line their own pockets.

Prince William's crest.

Prince William's Knight of the Garter crest has been revealed and it includes a tribute to his mother Diana, Princess of Wales. The crest includes the same scallop shell as the Spencer family's Coat of Arms. Sculptor Ian Brennan told the Daily Express: "Prince William requested that part of his mother's family crest should be put on his."

William's crest will also include a golden lion and it will be mounted above his seat in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
